Olympus C-2000 Zoom review
Olympus C-2000 Zoom review
This was my first digital camera and I loved it, the
creative options with control over aperture and shutter
speed made this a great starter camera for my budding
photography skills. However with cameras of this
generation, 1999, there was delays with the start-up
and shutter release, which was frustrating when
switching from the speed of a film camera. However
the ability to review your images even on this 1.8"
helped push my photography and I was soon taking
photos that were good enough for my company to
use in publicity material, although the 2meg image size
meant there was no margin for cropping poorly
composed images.
Problems:
Great camera but ten years on the delays in start-up and
shutter lag are poor by todays standards. The
camera chomps through power, even with a small 1.8"
screen and four AA batteries you'll need several spare
batteries to last a day of photography. The Smartmedia
memory is hard to come by and capacity is
limited to a 100mb or so.
2 megapixels • 1.8″ screen • 35 – 105 mm (3×)
