I have had DSLR's for many years and I sold my DSLR kit on getting this camera. It will not be a DSLR replacement for everyone, but it was for me, with the lightness of the kit making up for any compromises that I have made in moving away from the DSLR.
These are my main feature observations.
1) Good ergonomic shape, retains a DSLR feels, so is comfortable to use in my big hands.
2) Lighter and more portable than by previous heavy 'bag of lenses' situation.
3) Built in flash is a decent strength compaired to the competition at the moment.
4) image quallity is very good
5) kit lenses (18 - 55 and 55- 200) are stablised and give sharp images with good colour - reminds me of my Nikon images.
6) rear screen is very readable in bright sunshine
7) EFV's are known for 'blacking out' between shot to shot, I find this is less so on this model, so that some tracking of action shots while shooting is possible (though nowhere near as functional as a DSLR ... naturally)
8) Some mirrorless do not have an EFV, but I see this as essential as holding the camera against the face gives additional stabilisation and just feels more natural to me.
9) good range of manual controls, speedy auto focus and good shot to shot times.
Overall, i am very pleased with my purchase, i will buy the 30mm lens, which I think will stay on the camera a lot of the time. This system gives a high degree of portability with excellent image quality. Interestingly, because this camera is less capable than a DSLR in some aspects, you have to think a bit more about your photography and for me, this is putting some of the fun back into picture taking.
Problems:
The video is MP4, which is not handled by the bundles software! i have download a free converer, that changes the file to a more microsoft friendly AVI file which can then be edited etc of Windows movie maker editor
