Canon EOS 500D (EOS Kiss Digital X3 / EOS Rebel T1i) review

Having used another brand DSLR (Amateur Level) for
one and half years, I acquired the Canon EOS 500D
(US Model EOS Rebel T1i) based on a friend's
recommendation and reading a lot of reviews. The
whole camera including a medium zoom lens weighs
2/3 of the competitor and very easy to maneuver. It
does feel less sturdy dur to being less hefty. The Digic
4 processor is excellent and the full 1080 video
capability makes this model very cost effective. Have
took 300 pictures and so far very good results. Street
price is $795 on the west coast and online price is
about $100 cheaper. Recommended.

Problems:

The manual is well organized but not detailed enough to
show all the features of the rich features set of this
model. The Canon EOS type II lens (for "DX" size CMOS)
have limited choice. I have to search on line to find more
powerful zoom lens and bought a powerful zoom
made by other lens manufacturer. However if I could
afford the prize of the "Full Size" Canon digital lens the
choice is almost "the sky is the limit".
