Great camera for amateur photographer

I had few dSLR cameras before I bought this one - Canon 300D and 20D. Both were pretty big and bulky.
Canon 500D is much smaller and lightweight camera. I like almost everything about it.
The battery life is amazing and its really fast auto focus even in low light conditions.
Ergonomic controls, but I really miss the wheel that I so got used to in 20D.

Problems:

I though I would not use the new video recording capabilities in HD, but I see that I do use it. What I don't like about it, that the camera doesn't auto focus in movie shooting mode and you have to press the focus button manually which results in camera shake and the worst is that camera microphone records the focusing sound in output file!

But this is the only downside that I could find in this camera..
