An amazing powerfull and lovely camera for Photographers and Pictures lovers
I use video just for the fun.
About photography, I use only Raw format, then and only if needed I could make a PNG, JPEG, or any formats.
I don't use camera for sport or Formula (under zero) 1 pictures .
What I like:
- Light camera but full of gifts
- Manual, Av, TV modes. ( but all canon DSLR offer that)
- All the back buttons to one side ( the right one). Once right hand hold this camera lets your left hand free to control the lens or do anything else.
- Accepting all Eos lenses ( all Canon's DSLR does it)
- the Hdmi, usb and jack connections. No boring else useless controls.
- well built camera and able to be under a soft shower without any problem. ( I tested it under a strong rain last week-end). But I will not use it in scuba diving, but no more others cameras.
- 12.2 Mp sensor, not a bitch heavy billions pixels allowing you enough time to go in holidays and come back before the photo could be loaded or manipulated in Gimp/Photoshop
- the Digic 4 with his 12.2 MP make this camera fast and powerful using less power.
- Making as good photos than an Eos 1D Mark IV!!! ( and allowing EF-S lenses!!!!)
- An only 9 points autofocus Sensor ( if you don't know what you want clear on a photo then it's better you look for a baking/cooking machine)
-- Lucky AF manual point selection is available. ( as much Canon DSLR cameras)
- a great white balance choice ( but for all DSLR cameras useless if you work from raw)
- 720p video mode a good quality enough good for fun *.
Problems:
What I dislike:
- The battery and memory card at the same place ... that place stuck if you use tripod feet.
- No batteries Grip , no under grip at all for a better handing
- no infrared ( so safe) control
- the Video mode should be in the middle of the mode dial selector http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos1100d/Images/topcontrols.jpg
- too few manual controls of the video record.
- LiveView is..... ( but all Canon DSLR camera are... )
- No Essentials Parameters only screen ( we need to look in the viewer to have them)
- An only 3 bracketing choice ... it looks poor for a 2011 born camera while HDR's popularity is increasing
- Sensor cleaning ( asking you to work quiet and carefully)
