Excellent Camera!

The Sony Nex 5N is extremely compact and along with a pancake lens or a small compact prime lens, it is a great walk around camera that can be carried around everywhere.
Due to the design of the body, the Nex5N is a great choice to attach third party lenses using one of the innumerable adapters available. This opens up the possibility to pick from a plethora of "old legacy glass". Sony engineers have implemented some great tools: 9.5x magnification along with focus peaking, which tremendously help with manual focusing. Using the LA-EA2 adaoter, one can even take advantage of ultra-fast phase detection AF and the entire range of modern /Sony A mount lenses.

It's small size and the availability of sheer endless numbers of legacy and third party lenses makes the 5N extremely versatile - probably one of the most versatile cameras currently available.

Image quality (IQ) is very good compared with other APS-C cameras. The Sony 16 MP sensor has already gained a legendary status because of its much improved low-light capabilities, tonal and dynamic range, and speed.

Speaking of speed: The Nex 5N is capable of continuous shooting at a speed of 10 frames per second!

Overall, the camera provides very good image quality, and very high versatility.

However, the camera is not totally pperfect and there is some room for improvement. I am sure that some of these points can be addressed in a future firmware update:
Perhaps the most annoying thing is that bracketing in RAW mode allows for only -0.7 - 0.7 EV, which is a joke! This is entirely useless for HDR processing, so it would be easy and a extremely helpful if Sony could provide a user-definable exposure range for the bracketing mode (e.g. anything between -4.0 to + 4.0).
Another slightly negative point is the lack of in-body stabilization.

In summary, for its price, the Sony NEX5N provides outstanding quality and versatility. And I haven't even touched its video capabilities (full HD, 24/50/60 fps). Equipped with some good glass, the Nex5N is capable of professional results, in almost all situations.
