Excellent Travel Camera

The map download is simple but make sure that you have a large SD card as the maps for USA take up about 1 Gigabyte on the SD chip. The maps take a long time to download and must be downloaded separately to each memory chip that you plan to use while the chip is in the camera.

The landmark locator is limited in my hometown and somewhat hit and miss with somethings that should be landmarks missing from the list and somethings in the list that shouldn't be. Hopefully the list is better for tourist destinations which my hometown isn't. For example, hockey arenas are not in the list but courthouses are. Why is a tourist bringing a camera to a courthouse, you can't take pictures or bring a camera into a courtroom. The map is clear and shows all of the local parks by name. The direction shown on the map indicating the direction the camera was pointing is not always correct. Not sure I want to be waving my camera in circles every time I turn the GPS on either to set the compass direction.

The HDR and Beauty Shot certainly make my photos look good. Once I get my spare batteries charged, we'll try out some local travelling shots before our trip to Europe.

Problems:

Charging the battery using the USB cable while it is in the camera certainly reduces the travel weight but is frustrating when you want to put in a spare battery and just use it.

The camera gets quite warm in use with the GPS and WiFi turned on. I expect that the battery life will be signicantly shortened so a spare battery is a must.
