Take it traveling
I took this camera abroad and it performed very well in all weather conditions. Although I will probably never take it underwater, it's good to know that this camera is safe in the rain. One thing I've never done is expose any of my cameras to rain and I've never taken any rain shots but I took some abroad with this camera and I was pleased with the results.
Under normal un-contrasy lighting conditions, the camera performs very well but it has trouble with contrasty conditions. There is a way to correct the heavy shadows that occur in the photos in-camera by going to the edit menu and 'shadow adjust' but beware of performing this function more than twice as bad noise will occur in the dark shadows. It's better to correct this problem in 'Photoshop'. I used it mostly in 'Program Mode' as I like to control the ISO. I have no complaints as to the quality and sharpness of the photos and the colors were very nice.
Problems:
I wish this camera could 'average' the lighting conditions better. Of course there's exposure override but it's hard to do this because you have to find it on the 'info' menu and scroll down to it. It would be better to just have a click knob on the top of camera so you click and view at the same time for fast adjustments.
