A fine successor to the G10 not the G12
2

I have worked with most of the G range of Canons - and I declare my passion for the G10. The image quality and the robust rear screen head the list of likes - normally the rear screen with a hard protective cover fitted. I recognise that others look for the movable fixed screen on the G11/12 and see the move away from this feature with the G15 is a step backwards. Be still - and give the G15 a chance the reduction in size is very mush worh while keeping the camera just that much slimmer. I am concerned the ISO speed setting has been moved to the menu from a dedicated dial control and the two tier control upper dials - I need more time with these.

But - I am not a low light / high ISO fan so I am not making any call on this - I tend to run with the ISO as low as possible, an old habit from the days of film.

Problems:

Yes - I absolutely hate the pop up flash, added mechanical complication and very 'toy' like, this would be OK if as in some other makes the flash has an auto pop-up feature when needed - on auto.
