Great Starter DSLR
This was wonderful starter DSLR for me. It introduced me to the digital photography world and takes great all around photos. It allows a new user to learn and then advance to using the manual settings. Price is what drove me to purchase this camera origanally in a kit. It was a 10mp entry level camera that I could learn with and not break the budget. I would recommend it a good camera for students to start out with, instead sinking a ton of cash into a model you can upgrade to later.
I used this camera for about 3 years and put an estimated 120,000 clicks on it with not a single problem. It feels extremely light after using newer cameras, but it isn't built like a pro model either. Adding a battery grip made it much more comfortable to use. Battery life was excellent, giving me at least 1000 clicks per charge. After adding the grip I never could run it dead from a full charge, unless I used alot of flash. I still throw it in the bag as an emergency back up to the other 2 bodies I use.
Problems:
I learned quickly that this was not the camera I would need to shoot sports due to a slow burst mode and an ISO that toppped out at 1600.
