I think the arguments over which is the best pinhead superzoomer is like arguing which chicken with its head cut off performs most like a live chiucken. All of the small sensor cams are seriously handicaped . After 400 ISO ..bad things happen to them all. In lowered light ..more stuff starts happening ---with them all from what I have seen..(though pp can often do wonders)

All eansy sensored cams will not perform like  chickens with their heads on ... like DSLRs ..ever. They are all going to have an uneven performance IQ wise. The only real distinction will be in handling. That said ..the HS50 seems  clearly the better cam- to use- to this point. Sony has just come out with its HX 300 a 1200mm X zoomer. It might be in the running handling wise. Its IQ from what I have seen so far, is predfictably  like all the rest of the superduper zoomers..that is  ...not so hot.
