True, but in my case it was the feature of assigning the MySets to Mode dial that made me buy the E-PL5, and the better sensor was a plus. That Mode dial feature makes life so easy and predictable.

Previously a E-PL1 user and when a second E-PL1 could not be fixed under warranty after a few tries Oly replaced it with an E-P3. So I could compare operation with all three.

Guess which gets all the work? The E-PL5 because of that Mode dial trick and also the ability to use the OIS of unswitched lenses. I treat the better sensor and the faster and more reliable AF as a nice bonus. The only thing I miss is the E-P3 second Fn button, the thumbwheel is nice but not essential for normal operation, I'm so used to button pressing because of the E-PL1 so thumbwheels can come and go and I don't care.

To me if there is a direct choice between buying E-P3 and E-PL5 then a person would be nuts to buy the E-P3. The E-P3 is definitely a nice camera, but it's an old generation body now and under a variety of conditions the E-PL5 just works better.

Regards....... Guy
