The sensor issue only arises at high ISO. In normal light the E-P3 is fine.

A good high ISO performance is not only needed for shooting in dim light. Even in normal light, good high ISO performance can be very useful to provide high shutter speeds to freeze running children or sportsmen in action, stop leaves in breezes.

Nobody is denying that the new cameras have better sensors in them. However, it's a bit amateurish to be fixated on sensors and DXO Mark and so on. This is the kind of thing that people obsess about in internet forums. There's a lot more to a camera than just a sensor. The E-P3 takes great photos in most conditions. The newer cameras take slightly better photos in poor light, but the E-PL5 doesn't handle as well as an E-P3. At the current prices (of around US $450 for a new E-P3 with kit lens) the E-P3 is a bargain.
