Better to ignore your RAW files and simply back up the whole system two or three different ways:

**Time Machine (I use a RAID, but probably not worth the disk space.)

**Clone(s), run every night (I use one large, partitioned drive.)

**Off line, commercial, Internet to a friend's computer, or sneaker net to a remote site.

This way it is all automagic and you don't have to dedicate any special effort to your photography, as opposed to your music, e-mail, or what have you. Works for me, might not for you, etc.
