Best Fixed-Lens, Multi-Use (i.e. Portrait, Landscape, Macro, etc.) Camera Right Out of the Box?

From your other posts you appear to have an RX100 so it is a little surprising that you are asking about other cameras.

The RX100 would be an obvious choice so what don't you like about it?

Chris - good (and astute) point. I want to love the RX100, but I'm just not sure that I do. I want to recommend it to my friend, but I can't seem to put a finger on why I always felt a sense of satisfaction with the images I'd get on my G9, and that's only sometimes the case with this camera. I 've ser the P setting with extra sharpness and it helps, but I guess I'm wondering if people think there 's - for whatever reasons - a camera that takes better images without tweaking. Thanks.
