Re: NX1000 vs entry level DSLR low light performance

I don't want to use it strictly for astrophotography, but also for daylight photography (family, landscapes etc). I am not particularly interested in star trails, but enjoy taking photos of constellations, moon-planets conjunctions, bright comets etc (I have an equatorial mount that I can use for long exposures). I believe using bulb the longest exposure possible is 4 minutes, but I don't know if noise is a problem with exposures of more than 30sec or at high ISO speeds. By the way what sensor does the NX1000 use? Is it made by Samsung or is it used in other non-Samsung cameras?
