That miniscule market segment is not going to sustain it. I agree film is probably not going to "die" in the literal sense, but it will be more and more expensive and become a "connoisseur" type of medium with few companies producing it and few consumers using it.

I used to shoot slide film (Velvia and Provia), and I still think there is no substitute for looking at luscious slide films of "frozen reality" under a loupe, but there is just so much more convenience with digital -- instant feedback, changing ISO with a dial (remember the old days when we had to rewind the film mid-roll and change to a different film, using a sticker to mark which frame we were at?), etc.
