I found the 50 was often too long, particularly indoors, but 28mm showed the wide angle

About 3ft distance indoors is good enough for 50mm lens and that should be feasible indoors. 50mm is the pllanar focal length which should get you best possible details. The lens form factor also is smallest possible -making for a lightweight kit.



effect in some shots. I sold the 28 to buy the Nikon 35mm f1.4 and since then I've stopped using the 50. 35mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.4 is a very good two lens kit.

f.y.i. I use a D700 and I do have many other lenses.
