Re: Should I get a d300s?

I'm with JC.

I chose a D300s over a D7000.  I much prefer the handling and build.  The AF is a plus, but not amazing better than a D7000 and no different than the D7100.

High ISO isn't as good as newer sensors (use Snapsort to compare DxO scores), but honestly, the sensor in my camera has cost me far fewer shots than handling has - I can change settings on the fly soooo much more quickly on the D300s than I can with the D90/D7000/D71000/D600.

Don't get too caught up on sensors.  There are so many e-bullies who will say a D300s or a D700 is "old technology" but they still take great photos.  Cameras aren't PC's...
