canon's 35 is fastest to focus

both have some nervous bokeh imo

the not optimal bokeh in the ops displayed situations might drive me to the 35 f2 IS - just waiting for price drop

I plan to test the 35 f2 IS on my next trip. If I do end up going with that one, I'm going to "wait it out" for a price drop too! In the meantime, I'll just plan to make due with my $149 40MM pancake for as long as I need. Not a bad compromise at all! Who knows, I may end up keeping it in the end after all of my testing is done.

I liked your samples a lot btw. Thanks for posting.

Consider though that all the 35's rather suck when it comes to Great Bokeh.

The decision may be better judged by what type of shooting you do.

If it is action people shooting, I still think the sigma 35 f1.4 will be better than the 35 f2 IS

if it is scapes and static shots, the 35 f2 IS will win

Good points Mac!  Thanks.
