Studio Model Shots with Canon Speedlites?

I'm a Canon 5diii shooter, and do lots of model shoots for photo based illustrations.  I want deep enough depth of focus so the entire model shot is relatively sharp, as I typically collage together parts of many shots to get what I'm after, so the trade-off is needing a fair amount of flash to capture what I'm after.  I use a combination of softboxes and umbrellas against black or white backdrops.  After many shoots...  the combination I typically use is the following...  let me know if there might be a better way to do what I am after....

I use a series of 8 Canon 550ex Speedlites, in TTL or manual, or a combination, on Phottix Odin radio triggers.

Here's a gallery with typical shoot done this way.

Any advice appreciated!
