Get the 35mm F1.8

I'm an amateur photographer, Mostly I take pictures while traveling.

I have a D5100 with a 16-85 Lens and in my last travel I felt the need of more tele, so I was planning to buy one.

After some research I have 2 options: Nikkor 70-300 VR or Nikkor 18-200 VRII

I think I would be ok with 200mm but I red that the image quality can be lower than the 16-85 (I like this lens very much), on the other hand, I'm not a fan of changing lenses (And traveling sometimes the situation doesn't give you the chance) and that is the obstacle to go for the 70-300mm

What do you think? Is this "lower quality" significant enough to avoid this super zoom?

I know you said you wanted a tele, but I believe a 35mm F1.8 would much better serve you. You will come back with some stunning images.
