i can testify to have the same issue on  my d4......

i have been saying this from day 1 to my nps rep, and nikon technical advisor...

this seems to be a result of the cmos af sensor and not the ccd type the d3 has.

apparently the angle of the sub mirror can influence the colour of the light?  could the sub mirrors be at the wrong angle?
