I have the 10-18.  It's a nice lens, but I found that for landscapes, things far off in the distance end up looking really small and far away.  Sometimes I think that even 24mm is too wide.

For the shooting I do, I think 24mm is more useful, though my current favorite is the SEL35F18 (35mm lens).

I do think that your photos would've been sharper with the 24mm Zeiss, but I can't say whether or not you'll find the improvement compelling enough to be worth the money.
