Is it worth it? It all depends. I think it is, but it will help if you tell us what limitations you are getting at 24mm on your zooms. Are they too slow? Too big? (the Zeiss isn't small). Do you want to develop prime-lens shooting techniques, etc.?

Also, 12mm and 24mm are drastically different lenses. To me, there is not either/or there, but both to cover my desired range with primes.

The 12 is an 18mm equivalent, which is a wide while the 24 is a 35mm equivalent, wide-normal.

35mm is my favorite walk around focal length and my other cameras are Nikon FX, which is lacking in a good 35mm lens that I can afford (look at the price on the f/1.4 and you will see what I mean). That situation combined with the size of the Nex-7 makes the Nex with the 24mm the ideal walk around camera.
