Did _I_ buy at the wrong time? 70-400G uno.

The 70-400G is my most used lens (50% of all exposures).  In a deeply unsettling turn of events, it was stolen in January.  Last week I purchased a new one, from B&H, taking advantage of the (widely available) $100 discount.  So the lens was purchased in mid-February and cost $1900.

Now, of course, Sony just came out with the actual MSRP and shipping dates for the new 70-400G, the aptly-named 70-400G2.  Price is $2200.  Availability, according to B&H, is mid-July 2013.

- Should I return the "1" and order a "2"

- Is the price correct?  The available-on date?

My thoughts:

Keep it.  6 months is way too long to not have your most-used lens, and there really is no substitute.  I don't record sports or action (much) -- though I do record birds and bugs for pleasure.  The other upgrades (newer nano-coat) are not likely to be noticable.

Your thoughts?
