K5 + 135mm

My favorite carry-around kit is the K5 + 135mm.  If I have a specific purpose in mind, then I have other lenses, and a Nikon DSLR to choose from.  For example, I've been using my Sigma 50-150mm a lot because of my son's ice hockey.

But as it stands right now, when I go out to take pictures and don't have a specific subject in mind, my favorite is the K5 + 135mm.  Withe all the other lenses I have, the range isn't versatile enough, or the lens is too heavy, for me to want to lug around all day.  This may change in the coming months -  I just bought the new Sigma 18-250mm macro, and it seems like a great lens.  I haven't put it through its paces enough to have it replace the 18-135mm yet.  Plus, the sigma is not weather resistant.
