The DR is good but shadows are weaker than modern cameras (if they need to be pulled a lot). The details and colour though you can pull from highlights are staggering and you can see it in the clouds of the one shot that you liked.

I have not used CPL - all these shot with just Nikkor 28-70 f/2.8 and no filters (mostly at f/8). I have used CPL on some other shots but on Kodak its effect is far greater than say on Nikons I had so far and it skews colours towards absolutely wild is not careful.

The Saint Lapopie village photos I had done in pairs on MF film as well (Velvia 50 6x6 format) so having used both RPP+Velvia50v2 profile and film on light table I can say Kodak gets very very close.
