Image stabilization; who has the best?

I would have to agree with you here. I have Canon 70-200f/4 IS & Sigma OS, but the VC on my [now saddly broken] Tamron 70-300 is the best I have used. Very possitive, image is rock steady while you take the shot. Works best for me. YMMV.
