Thom Hogan editorial about DX users not being serviced, is this a new trend?

No since 35mm dSLRs typically stay in production for 3 years or more while aps-c models get replaced every 12 to 24 months for the most part.  Higher end aps-c can go 3 to 4 years.  So it's just a cycle.  Sad thing is Canon should have made more advances with their 35mm image sensors than they did as they are still lacking in dynamic range and noise, banding and now nothing new in 35mm for Canon for another 3 years.
