Believe me, no offense taken!  I'm just learning how much I don't know!  Quick question though, I thought there was the "rule of 600" to deal with?  At 300mm focal length on a 1.6 crop it's 480mm, right?  Going by the rule of 600 then shouldn't we stay at about 1.25 sec to keep from getting trailing?

I freely admit i have no earthly, (see what I did there?), clue what I'm doing and would love any tips, critique or correction I can get.
