Any word of caution with the Norman Koren test chart in the first link.

If you use autofocus and the resolution in part of the area where you aim the autofocus point falls below the minimum detection level of the autofocus detection line you may get an autofocus error. If the autofocus ignores say the right part of the target and assumes everything is meant to be to the left it can make a wrong autofocus assumption and focus at the wrong distance.

Nikon confirm very fine detail can cause focus errors; in the instructions for whatever DSLR body you own.
