They were clearly made for each other!
I like the mood of the b&w version but all things considered I find I prefer the colour one. Why? Because there seems to be some artifacting in the shadows that is not noticable in the colour shot - blocking up or posterisation or something, perhaps related to the conversion process?
I also like that you can see the textures of the sand in the foreground in the colour version, and I prefer the composition.
Beauty and folly are old companions.
