The Sun, FZ200

I'm doing some new experiments over at the astronomy forum, so head over there for tech info. Just wanted to show what can be done with this camera

The noise on the disk is granulation of the Suns atmosphere. By applying filters close to the 395nm band you get contrast in the calcium burning on the surface. Notice that it's brighter just around the sun-spots. I have stacked 36 images at 100 ISO, just to be sure to eliminate camera noise.

Never thought this was possible without solar scopes or astronomy filters that costs $400 or ten times that. My filters were only $10

View this at 100%. The original is twice the size!
