On shots like this, where it is tricky and I have no experience with this type of shot, I always try to work out a test shoot a few days prior to the actual shoot. During the test shoot I try my best to get what I am looking for. Then when I have time to review the photo I have taken, I usually come up with some ideas to improve on my original shoot.

If you could schedule a test shoot, and then show the images here, I'm pretty sure you would get a lot of good ideas on how to improve your techniques for the actual shoot.
