Nikon lenses sharpness at 200-300mm
Thanks for reading!
I'm on a Nikon D5100 with a nice roundtable of lenses, but I've been looking at purchasing something longer - the Nikon 18-300, 28-300, or the Tamron 70-300. I've felt a real need for something longer than 200mm, which my kit lens 18-105mm just hasn't been able to provide.
But more recently I've discovered the 400-500mm range lenses. Specifically the Sigma 50-500 or 150-500, all of which can be had for around my price range used ($750 to $850-ish).
How do the above compare in terms of sharpness at 300mm? - i.e. when comparing the Sigma 50-500, 150-500, or Nikon 80-400mm f4 at 300mm versus the 18/28/70-300 at 300mm?
