Whats the great need for android if you're already going to be taking your phone with you? At web resolution the camera sensor shouldn't make that much difference except in low light but I would think the flexibility of the NX1000 would be useful for the constant light changing conditions. There's also a portability aspect as the NX1000 is small but not super small (unless you get one of the pancakes but will that be the right focal legth). Do you have room to shoot on your shots? Generally the further back you can stand with a matched zoom gives a better perspective. I don't know the zoom-range on the Android camera but you may find it more useful than anything on the NX. Sorry no definite answers but I doubt anybody has the exact needs you do.

The need for android comes from this example. I was at the live reveal of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. I used my android phone to snap shots and upload them directly to my website's facebook page and twitter account real time, but the limitations of a cell phone camera restricted what I could really post.  Having to wait for pics to transfer to my phone from the camera and then post them is what I am trying to avoid. I want Shoot-Check-Post for situations like this.

As far as your other questions.. my room and distance are highly variable. For highly anticipated vehicles like the Corvette, I'm lucky to get any shot without someone standing in my frame.  For something like the Ram ProMaster van... I have all the distance and time I could ever want.
