as stable as crunch snow underfoot will allow!  Not much wind.

I'm a noob at night landscapes with stars (star-scapes), and i do understand that bright stars will create 'flare'. especially more-so with condensation forming on the lens in a matter of seconds.

It's gotta be the barrel distortion on the brighter stars, right?

If all the stars were the same magnitude, they would have the same flaring, yes?
