Manually focusing 50mm on D700

So I dropped my Nikkor 50mm AF-D yesterday.. face-down.... Filter shattered and the barrel crooked... I doubt it would be worthy the repair cost.

I am looking for a better replacement of the AF-D and some of the manual focusing lenses truly intrigue me.. the Nikkor 50mm F/1.2, the Zeiss equivalent and the Nokton 58mm...

If you had to pick between the Nikkor 1.2 and the Zeiss 1.4, which is your winner?

What is your experience manually focusing any of these lenses with the D700?

I am a street shooter and the focused subject tend to be off-centre in my composition.

Can you still focus fast enough to catch up with the human subjects on the street? Do you find it necessary to use an aftermarket focusing screen?

I thank you for sharing your experiences..
