Unless the camera has suddenly started making those settings, I think you need to take a look at what mode you're in for ISO and everything else. It's easy with a fairly new camera to make a setting change that you don't realize is causing the problem.

You don't TAKE a photo, you MAKE a photo.

It was indeed the camera itself, since it was in full auto mode. Even tried a few shots with manual settings and 400 iso, and still way overexposed

have you checked the sync speed settings?

Which speed sync settings?

There are a set of flash sync settings; auto, 200, 60-200. Don't remember exactly the names of the settings.
