Re: APS-C and m4/3 sensors: dynamic range, low light IQ

Now that I've had a look in detail at some sensors at DxOMark, I feel like the APS-C and m4/3 field isn't as level as the prices would suggest. It seems to me that in the roughly $1000 price point (at Amazon) for bodies, there is a wide range of sensor quality.

I was surprised to see pro brand Canon basically at the bottom of the barrel with a sensor not even as good as smaller m4/3 sensors. Also surprised to see the Sony SLT APS-C sensor rate lower than even some of their older SLRs like the 580. Pentax and Nikon seemed to stand out in terms of sensor quality for APS-C. Price generally did not correlate with sensor quality.

Pentax K-5 $739 DR 14 EV, Low light ISO score 1162

Nikon D7000 $900 DR DR 13.9 EV, Low light ISO score 1167

Olympus OMD EM-5 $949 DR 12.3 EV, Low light ISO score 826

go to a Canon forum and see all the ex-Nikon users !    they all prefer the image quality of Canon pics and find the "DXO" score very misleading!
