Shooting 35mm is easier and often more enjoyable, but the 50mm shots usually look better. I like to use a 50mm for walking around. You usually have the option of getting closer or further away and the perspective and bokeh look better.

A 35mm is great when you are out with a group of people. It is hard to take pictures of more than one or two people from at a restaurant with a 50mm and 35mm is still pretty close to a normal perspective.

Of my keepers with my Leica M9 about 50% are with a 50mm, about 30% with a 35mm and the rest are 24mm and 90mm.
