Deciding On What FX Lens To Get.

I had both

.... and sold the 24-85mm.

Not because it's worse, just because it has less reach and it's not as strong built as the 24-120mm.

I don't think 28-300 is a very useful lens i..., you will notice 28mm versus 24. ...

I bought a second hand Tamron 28-300 just to see how that fits as focal range, and I found myself wanting wide more often than zooming to 300... but everyone is different.

Bottom line is, they are both nice lens. If you want the extra reach and can cope with the extra weight, AND have the extra money, reach out for 24-120mm . If not, stick with the kit lens. Personally, I like the 120mm reach, and constant aperture.

In my Canon days, I had the 24-105mm L , and every since I sold my Canon gear I regretted that lens. Is the 24-120 just as good ? NOWEHERE NEAR ! , but it does fill the gap for now.
