Do you non professionals still use DSLR's? And why?

Well, traditionally, the SLR was the camera that had the most control over your pictures and the DSLR just became an extension to that concept. up until two years ago (or even less) DSLRs were still the only camera for this purpose.

It's still very early when it comes to transitioning to other camera styles, so there's no point in judging over here or there. Maybe in 5 years or so, then we'll see where the non-professionals migrate towards when all current systems mature.
