Well said.  The D3 remains one of the great cameras, regardless of the newer generation's capabilities.  Don't be conned into thinking that higher resolution (more MP) is a certain path to better image quality.  It isn't.  And be sure to take note of the D3's capabilities at higher ISOs.  It's better than your K-5 in terms of controlling noise and ... at the same time ... preserving detail.

The price you've quoted suggests that you just grab it.  That is some bargain!
