Hello everyone,

I am scouting for a lens to extend my available glass. I have the Canon EOS 650D with a 18-135mm STM lens and I am now looking for a new lens.

I am basically looking for a fast, sharp lens, around 400-500 euros. I was first inclined to the 50mm f/1.4, but since it will mostly be dedicated to take photos of people and indoors, it might be a bit on the high end of the focal distance. Alternatively I was thinking of the SIGMA 30mm f/1.4.

What do you guys think?

Cheers for any comments/advices!

I'd go with the Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM Lens.

While it's an f/2.8 lens, it has excellent IQ, a great bokeh, and at $150 is priced right.

When every I consider buying a lens, I look at Flickr photos for that lens. I think this better shows the results to expect with the lens.

I ordered and returned the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 as I was NOT impressed with the image quality.
