Do you think the Galaxy camera would work sufficiently in the semi-pro situations I describe or should I go with the NX?

I must preface this by saying that I don't own the GC120.  However the lens and sensor of the GC120 is lifted almost straight from the WB850F.   I have a WB750 which has the same lens and is otherwise similar to the WB850F but lacking wi-fi.  I also have an NX10.

Since you only need web resolution, I am sure the GC120 will cope with well-lit situations but I have doubts about its suitability in poor light.  At least that would be the case with the WB750.

I bought mine because it is a true superzoom yet fits easily in a shirt pocket. The intention was to take it with me when i wouldn't otherwise bother carrying a camera.  The reality is that I never use it because I am unwilling to accept the compromise in image quality compared to the NX10.

It is fine in bright light.  The lens is amazing, covering almost any focal length required.  However in poor light, such as early morning or late afternoon, the iso ramps up and image quality deteriorates badly.  The flash is useless unless the subject is motionless because it only starts to charge when the shutter button is pressed.  By the time the flash charges and fires, anything moving has long gone.  I assume these characteristics carry over to the WB850F and GC120 so I would urge you to try out a GC120 before committing to buy.

Included below at web resolution are a few shots of cars and buildings taken on my first trip with the WB750.  These were all shot in glaring bright sunlight.  The vintage cars had stopped at Werris Creek, a small railway town I passed through.

Is there any indication that there is a galaxy camera coming with interchangeable lenses or something at the NX level that runs android?

Not yet.  I don't have inside knowledge but I reckon that is at least a year away, possibly two years, if ever.  The GC120 is just the first shot.  It will take a couple of iterations to get everything sorted before they even think about doing the same with more advanced cameras.  Of course it would be a great coup if they prove me wrong.
