Not true, unfortunately. Trash, like everything else is a huge problem. You would be surprised to know just how polluted the world's oceans are by plastic.

There's a wonderful anecdote from one of the deep sea researchers exploring new and never before seen depths in the ocean. The first thing he observed was a Reebok sneaker.
