Are Nikon production lines being sabotaged? (RE: impact damge)
3

There are growing complaints in literally every gear talk forum concerning the refusal of Nikon repair centers to cover repairs under warranty for what they claim is damage caused by impact.  Nikon seems to be implying that almost over night photographers have started dropping, knocking, and generally mis-handling their cameras.  The only reasonable alternatives would be either their loyal customers have become dishonest cheaters, or Nikon is progressively building their cameras more fragile to the point where damage can happen at impact intensity so delicate that the user would not even suspect something has happened.  We all know that companies never try to screw the customer to improve their bottom line.  So are there people purposely damaging these cameras somewhere along the supply chain?  Nikon should seriously ask themselves that very question before they pick their customers' pockets.
