Rokinon a "partial pancake"

Damn those cooks who used self-raising flour instead of plain!!!

Good summary. I remember back in the day lusting after the Takumar f2.8 40mm for the Pentax. When I finally got it I found:

(a) It was so shallow that you couldn't hold the focus ring easily.

(b) The image with the f2.8 aperture was a bit too dim for easy focusing so it didn’t matter so much that you couldn’t hold the ring.

(c) The 40mm FoV didn’t suit me AT ALL (I don’t think I ever used a "standard" 50mm lens after my first onterchangeable lens camera in 1964, a Miranda -- I preferred 35mm and then moved to 28mm).

So it just resided on a shelf for a long time until I finally sold it.

Cheers, geoff
